Luxury bus service to Delhi airport comes to halt

JALANDHAR: of and Pepsu Road (PRTC) from Jalandhar bus stand to IGI Airport, which is popular among Punjabi NRIs, remains shut down for 10 days now, after transport department of Delhi government impounded five buses over two weeks ago. Fifteen buses were being operated daily between the two destinations.

With no government buses, NRIs now have to opt for the private-run buses. Indo-Canadian Transport Company, co-owned by former deputy chief minister and SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal, is now the sole operator between Jalandhar and IGI Airport.

Congress had made the transport business of Badals a big issue before the 2017 assembly polls and had promised to take action even as Sukhbir always maintained that their business operations were perfectly legal and they were not violating any rules.
