After the final round of talks on Wednesday, it was decided that all pro-Vidarbha outfits would unite under one banner and contest the elections in the region fielding common candidate. “It’s not merger of parties but forming a coalition for the purpose of putting up one unanimous candidate for Mahamanch in every constituency,” said Aney.

The BJP had contested 2014 election on specific promise of creating new state, but now BJP president says the issue is not on party agenda. The Congress has been dilly-dallying on the statehood issue for Vidarbha. “So, people of Vidarbha will teach a lesson to the BJP as well as the Congress in the next elections,” said Chatap.
