Ranchi sadar hospital tops Ayushman list

Ranchi: The Ranchi sadar hospital became the best performing public hospital in the state and the 12th best in the country with 495 patients registered under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) till date, the district administration said on Tuesday.
District civil surgeon V B Prasad said: “The hospital has surpassed all other public hospitals in the state in the number of patients registered for PMJAY. A total of 223 claims had already been settled and we are working on to make the scheme more accessible across the district. The coverage for rubella has also touched the halfway mark in the district, but we have a long way to go and we are roping in private schools to increase the coverage.

District administration officials said a total of 66 applications for empanelment of hospitals under PMJAY have been approved while 37 others are pending for processing.

Meanwhile, Ranchi sub-divisional officer Garima Singh said all hotels and eateries in the city will be tested for food samples and their kitchen conditions starting on December 1. “In our preliminary tests at a handful of locations, we have found cases of unhygienic cooking conditions and adulteration in food samples collected. These results are disappointing and hence, we have decided to test samples and sanitation conditions in kitchens of every commercial eatery in the state capital. A mobile food testing van will be used to expedite the process.”

The online submission of voter registration and correction forms have also gained momentum in the district in the past one month. While a whopping 5,061 copies of Form-6 (name inclusion in electoral rolls) have been received online, 117 Form-7 (deletion of names), 822 Form 8 (name correction) and 79 Form 8A (address change) have also been received by the district administration. Additionally, 49 transgenders have also been added to the voters‘ list in the district in the past month.

Another official from the district land acquisition wing also said online facility for corrections in Register-II records will now be available round the year, instead of the earlier timeline from 1st to 10th of every month.

Rai Mahimapat Ray said preparations for the upcoming panchayat elections in the district are on. “The nomination filing process is under way and will continue till November 30. The votes will be cast at 272 booths across the district for 180 seats which include 171 ward councillors, four mukhiyas and five panchayat members on December 19. The votes will be counted on December 22,” he said.

Additionally, the district administration also announced that out of the 3,266 para teachers issued show cause notice for their continued absence from their schools, 407 have rejoined duty in the .
